Sail away on the Freedom of the Seas from Port Canaveral 8/8

This is what the weather looked like as we sailed away from Port Canaveral.  When I returned to the ship I decided to pick up a Week Planner they hand out so you can plan your cruise and while looking at it I realized I had to work that nite.  So I hurried to get ready and make it up on the promenade on time and it turned out to be a great nite.  The passengers were buzzing like crazy.  I even sold a few items from my promotional table.  But when I finished I was exhausted so I returned to my cabin had a little something to eat and went to bed, tomorrow is a long and early day.  I have to say the few passengers I meet and had a talk with were very nice.
My day at Sea started out to be rough in many ways.  I was tired and it was longer then usual to set up the jewelry and the waters were rough so passengers were not handling it well. .  Once we set up I sold a few pieces and was worried.  But then after 3pm everybody was coming from nowhere and buying.   So after breaking everything down I was happy with the sales of the day and went to have a ice cream.  They have this soft serve out all day for anyone to have one and usually it is busy but not today.  I enjoyed it and then went to relax.  Later in the evening I went up to the Windjammer on deck 11 to have a lite dinner but ended up seeing more then I was hoping for so I had a little of each.  Needless to say I was full.  I decided to walk down
instead of the elevator and stopped at deck 4 to go out to watch the water since it was so rough.  The skies were cloudy and there were 10' swells and the ship was going so fast that it was sending off at least 6' wakes.  It was cool to watch and I stayed for about an hour before returning to my cabin.  While I was on deck 4 a few other passengers gathered and we all talked about the weather and how the ship was moving.  Interesting............

Ahhhhhh............Labadee, here once again.  It is so beautiful here I wanted to go out and walk the resort and take more pictures of what I haven't seen yet.  I did fallow a path to the other side of the jet skis and this is what I found.  A cool little cave that would be hard to get too and a water field of Hugh Star Fish.  I could not stop taking pictures of them.  I meet a nice couple from Virginia and the husband was a Bio chemist who told me that there was a place, I don't remember, that had too many star fish and they decided to cut them up and throw them back in the sea.  Only to find out that each piece would reform back into another Star fish.  Cool fact that I never knew.  It was getting too hot so I said good bye and went to walk the beach.

The beach was exceptionally beautiful today and the waves were big for this resort.  Maybe because of the storm that we went thru last nite.  I decided to walk the beach from the start and then take the tram back.  The water was cool but not cold which I thought wasn't normal.  But it was very refreshing for me.  I thoroughly enjoyed it with a cup of ice in my hand and eating it to stay cool.  After I reached the end of the beach i stopped at the bar on the way to the tram to get another cup of ice.  It was soooo hot and humid today that without the ice it was unbearable.
This is the tram that will take you up to the end of the trail where you can shop the locals art.  I hopped on and took a nice slow ride in the direction of the ship.  When we finally stopped I saw that others were staying on so I decided that I relaxed so much on the ride down I sat back down and took it again.  This time round trip.  Together with the breeze, shade and the slow moving tram I was ready to sleep.  So I got off after the end of the round trip I took.  I slowly made it back to the ship..

I took a few more pictures on the way back to the ship.  I will miss this port.
Good bye for now Labadee.......
Another fun fact:  Royal Caribbean ships that visit Labadee drop off much needed supplies for the devastated parts of Haiti.  They started to do this right after the disaster hit.  I think this a great thing they are doing and hope they keep it up. :)
