Ocho Rios, Jamaica on the Freedom of the Seas

It is amazing what a storm can do to a place.  Here in Jamaica it was so clean and beautiful today.  It was still hot but not as hot as a few weeks ago.  This is a view from the ship at the opening of where we dock.
I have to share with you what my night was like.  I decided to walk around the ship after having dinner, I was going to go to the gym for some exercises but it seemed a little boring so I walked the stairs whenever I went to another deck.  I started with deck 4 and watched the water for awhile, it always relaxes me from the hustle and bustle of the interior of the ship life.  After that I walked back into the ship and heard clapping coming from one of the show rooms so I went in to see what was on.  It was an Illusionist so I stayed for awhile but the urge of wanting to go back out on deck brought me to turn around and leave the theater.  I picked up something to drink on my way up to deck 12 to check out the night sky and try to find the moon.  When I finally made it up to deck 12 it was stunning.  what a show I saw.  The Waters were so calm it felt as if the ship was going so slow but I know it was going at least 17 knots.  I walked the jogging deck a few times and stopped to watch the light show that was behind the low clouds off to one side of the ship.  It was so beautiful but so quiet.  The lights were flashing a lot but without any thunder sound, I thought it was cool.  I tilted my head back to watch the star filled sky above.  When my neck started to hurt because I couldn't stop looking at them.  Another thing that I am so in awe about are the stars.  I decided to sit in a lounge chair and just watch.  With some great music playing from the speakers of the ship it was like no other show you could go too.  After awhile my eyes started to get heavy and I really felt like sleeping right there but I knew I would eventually have to go back to my cabin so I stayed for a few more minutes then headed back to my cabin on deck one.  Believe it or not there are still 2 decks beneath deck one.  That was a great nite.  I would have taken pictures but I don't think I would have captured what I just described but I hope you could visualized it.

Okay so here are the pictures I promised of downtown Ocho Rios.  But without the sounds It is hard to really get the full experience but I will try to explain.  It is so crazy on the streets, for one they drive on the wrong side of the car, lol.  There is a lot of honking mostly to say hi to the people they know and to cross the street is taking your life in your own hands.  The buzz of all the cars and they aren't going slow.  Women are asking me to braid my hair, but if you are here and decide to get your hair done make sure you pay up front because a passenger told me that he agreed to having his little 8 yr old daughter hair braided and they charged him 125.00 us dollars and she didn't have that much hair and he said she demanded a tip on top of that.  No braids for me.  I stood out like a soar thumb so I was asked to buy or do something every few minutes.  The Men also like to try and beckon you over to ask you a question and that is when they give a sales pitch.  So my word of the day was "NO" to most everyone I came across ashore.  I spent about 2 hours on the Internet and made my way back to the ship.
As you can see in this picture they have Burger King.  I didn't eat there but it was a landmark so I could find the Internet cafe.  On my walk back to the ship, which was along a nice paved walk that runs along the beach, I saw at least 3 different types of butterflies.  They were different in size, color and pattern on the wings.   I tried to take a picture of them but they didn't stay still long enough.  They were unlike any one I have seen in the States.
