This is where I was in St. Marteen on the Ship Liberty of the Seas from the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. This is a beautiful ship and Hugh! The Promenade made me feel like I was in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, a mall. But we where docked along side the Emerald Princess from Princess Cruises. They are both Grand Ships. I always felt the excitement in the air whenever I left the gangway of one ship just to see another magnificent vessel sitting right across the dock from us. The last time I was here was about 15 years ago when I worked as crew with Princess Cruises. I always liked this port, the main street was always so cute but now it is lined with mostly jewelry shops. I did get some great electronics here. The local authorities value tourism so much that they do everything in their power to keep the Island crime free. Once when I was here I was swimming at the beach with a few friends and I left my backpack on the beach and as we were in the water I could see this guy come and run off with my bag. When I returned to shore the locals pointed to the direction and said they called the police. To make a long story short the captured him and my bag was returned to me a few weeks later. I was assured by the Police that they value the Ships and their passengers they bring. I do have to say even when I traveled to the other side of the Island that I think is French it is very clean. The other side had a topless beach/Resort that we just had too try when I was younger. We had no shame then and I was thinner then too. I also dropped a few coins in the slot machines at the Casino. This is also where they filmed the scene from the movie with Sandra Bullock and Keano Reeves. Speed 2 I think where the ship rides up onto the Island.

Anyway This time I just had to go dip my feet into the water, it looked so beautiful and clear. Ahhhhhhhhhh I stayed for awhile and snapped a few pictures, which I listed above. Kim, the lady I was training with on this cruise and I had lunch at a little place on the beach. Food was ok, not really anything to mention.
We walked back to the ship and I took a nap, it was really hot.
Sail away was wonderful! It is still strange to me that I am not dressed in a uniform and don't have to hurry to the shops to work. It was a great day!
